Plot: What’s it about?
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet was an awesome game, but as gamers, we always want more. So now we have Shadow Hunters, the first downloadable content for ITSP. If you’ve tried the Lantern Run mode before, then you know about what to expect from this additional content. But this time around, you don’t have to risk the shadows alone. Up to four players can work as a squad and attempt to transport a bomb to the asteroid’s core. This sounds simple enough, but since the bomb’s timer runs the entire time, you’ll need to be quick to succeed. You are able to recharge the bomb at certain points, but even then you’ll need good teamwork and solid strategic movement.
So is Shadow Hunters worth adding to your collection? If you played ITSP and loved it, then of course you’ll want to go back and fall in love all over again. I am a huge fan of co-op and being able to play with friends makes Shadow Hunters even better. This is true co-op as well, as you’ll have to work together if you want to pass the levels. Oh and even if you do transport the bomb properly, you then have to take down an epic boss. And this is ITSP, which means the boss fights are well designed, well executed, and fun as hell to experience. If you thought moving the bomb was tricky before, try keeping it alive with a boss trying to kill you. The one downside is that there isn’t a ton of content here, but the asking price is low, so that is understandable. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t want to return to ITSP, so Shadow Hunters is well recommended.
