Plot: What’s it about?

Up and coming porno star, Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg) has a gift, this isn’t an “X” rated site, so I’ll let you see this fine film to see what that gift is (and trust me, you do see it). It follows Dirk through his rise and eventual fall in the life of an adult film star. I enjoyed this film on so many levels…the cast is great, Burt Reynolds plays a director who is convinced that he makes “works of art” rather than porn movies, Rollergirl is just that…it goes on an on. This is one of the finest films that I’ve ever seen. You either love it or hate it. I loved it.

Video: How does it look?

This being a special edition, it’s 16:9 enhanced, a majority of this film is shot in dark places (nightclubs, parties at night…) so the image is put through it’s tests. The transfer is great! There is not one hint of artifacts at all. One of the better transfers that I’ve seen. A compliment to this great film.

Audio: How does it sound?

The 5.1 Dolby Digital Soundtrack really shows up during the music scenes (for which there are many). Dialogue and other surround effects are done with great care. If you’re a 70’s disco music fan, you’ll like this movie for the soundtrack alone (for which you can select from the menu).

Supplements: What are the extras?

Like I didn’t have enough room above to say, this has everything you wanted to know about this film, commentary, deleted scenes, a music video and you can select whatever song you like from the menu and it will go to that part of the film..tons more. All DVD’s should come this fully loaded.
