Plot: What’s it about?

This is the sequel to the popular scary movie Scream. While not as good as the first it is still an entertaining movie to watch. This time around Hollywood has gotten a hold of the real story that happened in the first movie and made a movie out of it. This one opens up at the screaning of the movie “Stab.” The sequel has added some more actors to the cast. They include the living from the first one: Courtney Cox, Neve Cambell, David Arquette and Jamie Kennedy. They also introduce some new cast members: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jerry O’Connell, Jada Pinkett and Liev Shreiber. As they say in the trailer that the body count in the sequels are always more to keep you guessing and more on the edge of your seat.

The sequel is also written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven. Like the first it has its moments of seat jumping scares and one liners to keep you laughing when you are not trying to be scared. The setting for this sequel is set on a college campus where Neve Cambell has entered after graduating from high school. The murders now have moved to the campus. The reporters continue to follow her around and post everything on the nightly news. With an all new cast of characters and some new ones you will have to watch it and see who makes it out alive.

This is a pretty good movie and while it would be a better package if they had some special features to go along with the movie. You should be able find this for about $20. If you like horror movies then you should give this one a rent and see if you want to purchase it.

Video: How does it look?

The picture looks pretty good. I didn’t notice any grain throughout the movie. While not reference quality it still looks great. Just lacks that one thing to keep it from being perfect.

Audio: How does it sound?

The soundtrack of this movie is great. The front soundstage is very wide and dynamic. The subwoofer kicks in now and then to add the bass when needed. The rear speakers also get some attention and add to the movie. Just like in the first the music adds to the suspense and is well done. Surprisingly so the soundtrack is of referance caliber.

Supplements: What are the extras?

All you get here is a full screen trailer in 2.0 sound. Some more features would have been nice and added some value to this package.
